Gotta Have Goals
For as long as I can remember, I'm one of those people that likes to feel a sense of accomplishment with what they do in their spare time. I'm a goal setter and the start of 2020 is no different. However I want to start this new decade in a different way.
For the past couple of years, I've focused on building skills and participating in Instagram Sewing challenges. Challenges, where I've often ended up making things for the sake of the challenge. Whilst I've banked many skills through that experience, in hindsight it was quite a waste.
So this year I'm vowing to do better.
A couple of days ago I found an article on the spring/summer fashion forecast for 2020, written by Cosmopolitan. I was so inspired that my sewing goals materialised from them (see images from Cosmopolitan.com below).
So what is the goal I hear you ask? Well the plan is to build a capsule wardrobe trying to use as many of the colours and trends identified in the forecast.
It's a challenge as not everything on the list is in my comfort zone; the Bermuda Shorts and the Buttercup Yellow colour fill me with some trepidation, but I guess the challenge will be how I make these pieces work for me.
So let's see how this year pans out. Wish me luck!
