With goals all set, it was going to be full steam ahead... fabric was washed, pressed & ready for cutting. However everything took a pause when I saw the tragedy of the bushfires in Australia and the impact it was having on natural wildlife. It was heart wrenching to see. I had only been in Australia 6 months earlier and was privileged to have had my first encounter with Ozzy wildlife. So having had this experience and seeing the bushfires, I had to do something. I started off with a donation of money, but this just didn't seem to be enough and it was only through a bit of searching and reading about those on the front line fighting the bushfires that I found the Animal Rescue Craft Guild. Here I learned how I could contribute in a different way using my sewing skills.
